Yippee!

Yippee!  Hooray!  I lost 2 lbs this week!!!   Way to go!  That makes denying myself deserts every night worth it.   Yep, that's right, I would have some sort of desert, homemade cookies, ice cream with homemade chocolate and caramel sauce (hey, why have just one sauce when two yummy ones are available?). This would usually take place in the forbidden hours of no eating after 7pm.  I went to the YMCA twice and did Wii once.  I resisted eating all my favorite stuff when under stress. You know, Sonic, candy bars, bakery items.  That was a real victory for me.

So onward.....or, hopefully, downward on the scale! Continuing the journey.

Sorry folks, that's all I have today.

I did something yesterday I haven't done in a long, looonng time...I went to a yoga class!  It felt good, in a painful sort of way.  My body is old, fat and inflexible. (keeping it real here folks). Please note I said my BODY is old, my mind still thinks it's 30 something.

Anyways, the body parts kept saying "you want to bend HOW?".  My mind kept thinking this feels good! (And the body was asking "is your head attached to this body?").  So I asked myself "why does this feel good?"  Took awhile for my mind to come up with the answer.....Because I'm finally doing something to take care of myself!

You know how, as you get older, you try to do something that your body did effortlessly in its youth and you can't, the body just won't move as fast or as easily or react with agility  the way it did years ago? Why is my body betraying me?, you scream in bewilderment.  You body has not betrayed you - YOU betrayed your body!  Well at least I have....for years.  It has finally become too much for me to ignore.  So I'm not gonna.

Using my wonderful, beautiful, inspiring daughter as a guide I am changing my habits.

 I choose to move!
 I choose to eat healthy!
I choose to change my bad habits!

I choose.....me, myself and I.  Only I can choose.

So, my goals:  > Loose weight (duh), not letting the scale be a defining anchor but a resourceful tool.
                        > Eat healthy
                        > Move....exercise, get more flexible (I have 2 granddaughters I have to keep up with!)

Just the facts, ma'am: (name that show)

Weight:    209.6    Yes, you are reading that correctly, I am over 200lbs :(
BMI:           35.1 (according to Wii)
Chest:          48
Waist:          47.5      > no wonder I look like a walking/talking cylinder, just paint me orange and white
Hips:            49.5                       stripes and I can join a road crew!

Joining the YMCA, using Wii, and NO EXCUSES.

Let the journey begin......
